The Liturgical Art and Environment Ministry

The Liturgical Art and Environment Ministry, set up in 2011, consists of a group of creative people who use their talents to enhance and support the worship (church) and gathering (foyer) space. The goal is to provide an environment for a prayerful participation in worship through creating appropriate surroundings and rich biblical/symbolic representation in keeping with the liturgical season. As the liturgical seasons change, so does the choice of flowers, greenery, colored tapestries etc.

The ministry presently comprises two teams; the “Floral” group and the “Banners” group. The Floral group does the arrangements for masses and sometimes, weddings. The Banner group is in charge of sourcing and putting together the banners based on the liturgical colour of the season, as can be see recently during Advent.

Many hands are needed to transform the church for major feasts such as Christmas, Holy Week and Easter, Pentecost. Those with sewing skills are put to good use repairing and creating liturgical cloth/banner. If you have sewing skills, floral arrangement skills or an artistic eye, then this ministry may be for you.
